APG eCommerce Solutions is one of the major providers of cross-border e-commerce delivery services.
They have an established presence in main global trade lanes, which includes Asia, Europe, and the USA. APG provides end-to-end logistics services to a variety of global e-commerce companies.
APG offers a unique delivery experience thanks to its custom platform. It combines Australia Post’s exceptional last-mile capabilities with a secure partnership network of postal operators and leading e-commerce delivery companies like SaiCheng Logistics (Australia Post’s joint venture with China Post).
We were asked to create a logistics management platform that would provide different kinds of solutions for retailers. The main goal was to make a complex system that would include existing logistic services and an improved list of new opportunities and offerings.
Moreover, we were requested by APG to redesign their existing application to create a new style with fresh visual elements. In terms of functionality, we were asked to add some new features in addition to the existing ones.
As a solution, we created a unique logistic platform with specific modules. Every module is responsible for various kinds of tasks like journey mapping, shipment management, label creation, etc.
Moreover, the system includes management and administration modules, where users can set different kinds of cooperation terms, manage accounts, and create groups with limited permissions.
APG is a mediator between e-commerce facilities and distribution gateways in Australia. Their customers are online retailers, some of which are world-famous like ASOS, Boohoo, and Wiggle.
The user flow is clear and is determined by a module. All the procedures have their algorithm according to the requirements of creating diverse types of configurations.
All the processes are divided into several stages. All the environments of the platform are separated into modules that are operating completely coordinated.
Octopus is a module that converts all kinds of data into an appropriate view depending on the type of users. It uses several triggers to synchronize with different kinds of information. Then, it creates specific configurations for the next usage.
The hub operations are a generic term for a warehouse that receives parcels and then scans and sorts them. There is a possibility to create containers depending on a linehaul type and choose a specific container type.
To improve the hub operations flow, we conducted a series of user testing among warehouse employees in the US, UK, and Australia. As a result, the hub operations processes became more efficient, and the number of errors was reduced.
Each carrier requires its unique label. Label engine is a module that can produce labels for key carriers in-house. This way the customers can stick it onto the parcel they would like to ship without additional steps.
The quotation is a pricing schedule where the user can create specific business rules for each customer. By using the origin and destination country the user can set factors and conditions according to which the sum will be determined and applied.
As a result, we obtained a modern logistics system with a diverse number of features that are constantly being increased and improved. The platform provides high-quality services to clients across the world and helps to track shipments in real-time.
